My name is Anna Savage. I view my art as things that I create and project through a medium of choice. My grandmother, Wendy Malan is an artist and I have always been very inspired by the life she has lived. I am applying to Michaelis because I want to be able to take my love for art and creation further and have it be a part of my future. I'd also like to discover more about different kinds of art, focusing on experimentation, stepping outside of my comfort zone and finding the medium that suits me best.
My current medium is oil paint however I am interested in different variations of media exploration. In terms of my paintings I use a very specific colour palette which brings in the mixing in of a lot of browns to create a look that is unique by providing a specific richness to the painting. During the course, I'd like to explore different aspects it has to offer for example sculpture and print media. I can see Michaelis supporting my growth as an artist through its versatility. I'd like to learn to grow in different aspects of art and through proper teaching and guidance.
Through being at Michaelis in the future i want to be able to experiment in different areas i am not familiar with and find the medium that is most unique to me, i look forward to working with different people who all hold different styles and passions and getting to broadening my horizon and learning more about myself as an artist
